The European Commission, the Heads of Medicines Agency, and the European Medicines Agency have launched the official website for Accelerating Clinical Trials in the European Union. This multi-annual programme aims to enhance the clinical trials landscape across the EU, emphasizing harmonization, innovation, and stakeholder cooperation.
ACT brings together EU regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders to collectively tackle the clinical trials community’s ongoing challenges.
The newly launched website, available at https://accelerating-clinical-trials.europa.eu/, serves as a focal point for ACT EU updates and resources. It includes information on the multi-stakeholder platform, the implementation of the Clinical Trials Regulation, voluntary procedures in scientific advice, and the Simultaneous national scientific advice (SNSA) pilot. All collective data on Clinical trial analytics, methodologies, and safety measures are gathered as well.
Its multi-annual workplan for 2022-2026 is also available on the website.
The website also features news and events related to clinical trials within the European Medicines Regulatory Network.
Stakeholders, regulators, and ethics committee’s active participation is vital to the success of ACT EU. Consequently, they are encouraged to stay connected through the website, engage in discussions, provide feedback, and contribute to shaping the future of clinical trials in the European Union.
